Hello to whoever is reading this. I will start where I am now and work backwards. The days are long and it is hard to remember where I was two days ago. As I write I am in south lake tahoe staying at the Horizon casino resort. I figured that sense I will be staying at my mothers for a couple of days that I would treat myself to a nice place for the night. Don't get me wrong, my mothers is a very nice place, its just my mothers. Anyway, I left Salt Lake City,Utah at about 5:30 this morning (Saturday). It was storming. The rain was coming down pretty hard. I didn't care, I wasn't going to stay in another motel that didn't have wifi, for another minute. It rained all the way across the salt lake. The lake is huge and highway 80 runs for miles and mile.It rained for about three hours. It didn't stop until I arrived at the salt flats. The salt flats are really trippy. Nothing but salt for as far as you can see. You can walk out on it..I'm glad that I was wearing my rain gear because it was cold when I crossed into Nevada. The desert is cold in the morning. The road was straight and in great condition except where there was roadwork. When there was work going on it would be for miles at a time. I rode 600 miles today. I arrived here at about 4;00 pacific time. The ride through the Sierras was beautiful. Now for the ride from Cody WY to Salt Lake, Utah. I arrived at Cody at around 5:00. I figured that I would just go to Yellow Stone and spend the night in the park at a resort. When I got to the entrance at around 6:00, the ranger told me that there were no vacancies. I turned around and went back to Cody , which is 50 miles. I ended up staying at a super 8 for $140.00. By the time I got there I was tired and didn't care. It was about 7:00 by then. I asked if there was internet hookup and he assured me there was. When I tried to us it needless to say it did not work. The next day I drove through Yellow Stone. It really is beautiful. You can stop every 1/8 of a mile or so and see something beautiful. You could stay there a month and never see it all. The mts. are awesome. The whole park is. The ranger the day before told me to get there before eight if I didn't want to wait in line with cars. I was there around 7:00. Most people were not up yet. I went in the east gate. It takes about one hour and 45 minutes to get to old faithful. I really lucked out. I only had to wait 45 seconds before old faithful did her thing. As soon as it started I yelled out There She Blows. Everyone turned around and look at be like I was nuts. Oh well. From there I stopped at a few different places, rivers, lakes, elks, before I left the park through the west gate. When I was leaving ,the cars coming in the park through the west gate ,were bumper to bumper for at least 3 or 4 miles. Unreal. When I left the park I was in Montana. I don't think I was in the state for more than 30 minutes. From Montana I crossed into Idaho. I rode for hours through Idaho which is also a beautiful state. Giant mts. and green valleys. Then I reached Utah. I was on route 15. It became very hot. I was driving along at about 80 miles an hour on this straight and longs stretch when all of a sudden the white thing went flying by my right eye. I thought it was a moth or paper ,when I remembered that I had put my credit card in my shirt pocket. I had put it there because I got gas and after I pumped the gas I put the card in my shirt as I pulled up to the store ,thinking I would put it in the suitcase. Well I forgot to put it in the suitcase, and when I discovered that it was in my pocket I just buttoned the pocket thinking that the card would be safe. Needless to say it flew out of my pocket and by the time I figured out that that was my card I had traveled about a mile or so. I stopped and walked back in the 100 degrees heat looking for the card. I walked back on the side of the road I was traveling and then crossed over the two lanes and walked the median back to my bike. I didn't find it. I decided to try it again and walked back about a mile. I went so far that I couldn't see my bike. Again I walked on the one side and then crossed to the other side. There it was, in the grass. I was quite happy. Then I started thinking, someone could steal all my stuff on the bike, or my bike, and all I would be able to do is watch. I ran back to the bike. I finally arrived in salt lake city sometime in the evening. After I paid for the room I rented the person informed me that they didn't have wifi. By them I was so tired I didn't care. Thats all I can write for now.I will tell the rest tomorrow. Good night. Danny. I really miss Kristin and the kids.
