Home at last.
When I left here 7582 miles ago, I left wearing a tee shirt. I didn't have to put on a coat until It started raining in Salt Lake City. Coming home ,I wore a rain coat all the way home, starting from Salt Lake City. When I finally left York Nebraska it was 6:00am. I rode for a little over 1000 miles and ended up In a little town in Ohio. With getting lost, I arrived at La Siesta motel at about Midnight. It was 18 hours. 10 of those hours was in the pouring rain. Then when I left this morning ,it was pretty much solid rain until I arrived home. It was the kind of rain where the cars were going 30 MPH on the turnpike with their emergency blinkers on. Even with all the rain gear on I was still soaking wet. You could not have picked worse conditions for summer. Thank goodness I made it without any problems. It's great to be home and sleeping in my own bed, lying next to Kristin, touching, feeling???!!:""****. Um, ahh, it's nice to be dry. I had a great trip and it was nice seeing my mother and son and granddaughter ,and my friend rick. America is a beautiful country and I feel very lucky to live here. For the most part the weather was great. This was a trip that I always wanted to do. Now that it is done I am thinking Africa might be nice to see on a bike. I'll write more about my trip and life later. goodnight ya'all.

LEAVING York, Nebraska

stuck in york, Nebraska
I left Las Vegas on Monday morning. The ride through the desert is awesome. The mountains are beautiful and the valleys are huge. I rode until I arrived in Salt Lake City. I think it was about 485 miles. First let me tell you about Las Vegas. I stayed there for two days. I needed the break from riding. Vegas is pretty trippy. Most of the people are very important. Most of the women are, or might be, hookers. Maybe they aren't hookers but they dress like hookers. Maybe the hooker look is in, in Vegas this summer. Las Vegas is a great place to just look at people. It is also a great place to look at buildings. It is amazing what a person can think of and then build ,or have built. The casinos that have themes are crazy. I'm definitely going to take Kristin there. When I left Las Vegas I was planing to stop by the grand canyon, but it was raining so I decided to pass on the grand canyon. I have seen it before, and I would like to take Jed there, anyway. After staying in Salt Lake City I headed through Utah and Wyoming. Those two states both have beautiful sceneries. The rock formations on the mountains are wild. Wyoming has green valleys and also beautiful rocks and mountains. From Salt Lake I rode to North Platte, Nebraska. Seven hundred miles. Highway 80 is straight and fast. Now it is Wed. I got up and was on the road at 5:00am. I planed on riding to Toledo and then riding home by Thursday. At about 6:00am it started raining. I didn't mind to much because I have enough clothes for that kind of riding. By 8:00 it was raining so hard that I was soaked and could not see where I was going. I finally had no choice but to pull off and get a room in York, Nebraska. Go figure. I can honestly say I made it to York. As I sit here writing this at 10:30 it is still raining. I will probably have to wait until tomorrow to leave. Also the cell Phone won't work in this area, and I can't download pictures. Thats all for now. I miss my family. bye bye.

sacramento to vegas
After seeing David in San Leandro I went to my friend Ricks house. I stayed there a couple of hours and then headed back to Sacramento to see David again and spend the night there before going to vegas. I was ready to leave Davids at 6:00. I didn't get on the road until 6:45. I took that long to find my Ipod. I put sheets on a bed when I got there and somehow put the Ipod under the bottom sheet. To get to Las Vegas from Sacramento you go to Los angles and cut over to highway 15. It is about a 650 mile trip. I missed the turnoff, off of highway 5, and went a extra 100 or so miles on highway 5 through L.A.. It was hot and traffic sucked. I mean really sucked. This was Saturday and the cars were bumper to bumper for miles. I can't imagine how it would be on a work day. I started going between cars, but not every car wants to give you the room that they are supposed to. One time I was following a chysler 300 that was pimped out. I was about 30 feet behind it when all of a sudden the passenger door opened up and and a womens blond head poked out and started throwing up. I immediately smelled old whine. This happened about 4 or five times. I looked over into the next lane and there was this guy in a truck. We looked at each other and started laughing. When I passed the car, there was two women who looked like hookers. I finally arrived in vegas about 13 hours after leaving Sacramento. It was a very long, pukey, hot ride. Right now I am in Salt lake city, again, on my way home. Its Monday. I will write more tomorrow. Kristin I miss you and will see you soon. Goodnight

california
well here I am in California. Today is Thursday the 20th. I left my mothers today after spending a couple of days with her. I arrived at her house on Tuesday. I left Lake Tahoe on Sunday and arrived at my sons house in Sacramento. I stayed there over night and from there I went to my mothers. I arrived at my mothers on Tuesday. It was great seeing my mother and her husband. We just hung around and talked and fed all the animals. She has a dog, nine cats that stay outside, one gets to come in when she wants. She also feeds about eight deer every night, hundreds of birds, and some raccoons. The one raccoon just had babies. It was very hot,105 degrees. Wed. we went to church. I had a good time visiting and it gave me a chance to relax. I was able to get my bike serviced by a guy named Duane. He owns a business called Hawg Heaven. I had all the fluids changed and new spark plugs put in, and he went over the bike and tightened anything that was loose. He did an awesome j0b and only charged for labor. He has all the right credentials. He saved me over $200.00. He also quit what he was in the middle of and and serviced my bike. Very cool. When I left Tahoe I made the mistake of waiting until noon to leave. It was bumper to bumper traffic all the way over the mts. on highway 50. It was very hot. I forgot that in California that you can drive between cars if they are going below 15 MPH. It took a couple of hours to get to my sons house in Sacramento. When I got to his house we also just hung out and talked. It was nice seeing him. Right now I am at the San Leandro Marina staying at the San Leandro marina Inn. David is going to meet me here. He is bringing his wife and my granddaughter. I have already been to San Francisco this Morning and drove over the Golden Gate bridge. The trip has been great so far. I plan on leaving tomorrow and start to head home. I still have not decided which route I will take. Kristin I miss you and love you very much. Bye for now
